the weekend

I could have posted this bit by bit  but I thought it might be better in one chunk

this (ie. last weekend) there was an afp meet in manchester hosted by saintmaryuk at the piano & pitcher next to Gmex

its been a while since i went to a proper afp meet and had aranged with mary to stay a few days longer than the meet night and home the next day

they meet was fun  I think there were around 25-30 people there and few of the normal nodnol attendees.  which made for a nice change.

I got to picadilly at around 6  having had to change at crewewhich was not on the original plan as that was a train strieght to manchester

got a taxi to Gmex  but ended up wa;lking in the wrong direction as I didn't spot the pebble.




sunday

we had a pub lunch that for me was a bit on the expencive side 10 ukp for a burger and chips that said it was a steak burger and very tasty

sunday evening we watched about 6 eppisodes of firefly.  I have got sirenity but never got to see the sieries. 

I did try the romper for a swift night cap but unfortunatly  they had some issue with the lines to the beer engines and so the real ale was off :(

so I was left with the choise of stella....  

Monday

got up around 9-10  had a couple of mugs of tea  chated with welshboy whilst saintmaryuk had a couple of one to ones with her students

Lunch time saintmaryuk and I went to the romper for lunch I opted for the mixed grill.  I have yet to this point come accross a mixed gril that has contained chicken breast.  but I realy did enjoy and it was worth the cost.  both saintmary uk and I had hoped that the black pudding stack from the special board would be available but allas not to be

monday night was spent chatting  and mary and I went to the romper for a quick night cap

Tuesday

got up earlier than yesterday

made tea for saintmaryuk and my self

stu tim and kevin surfaced at various times tim had gone to work before I did get out of bed

a swift down load of new articles from lspace and feading of the vampire that is avg  was done and I found a new online game that I will post a link to when I have gotten back to my desk.

stu droped me at the train station at 11.20  just had abit of time to find and pay for a ticket into central manchester

I wandered into manchester towards the arndale  stoped off in HMV to buy firefly box set:)

and got the 13:54 train to reading/birmingham new streat having missed the direct conection by 50 seconds.

Finaly after installing broadband last month I have finaly managed to get a working wifi lan set up :)

this is good asI dont have to use the boxin mums office to go online surf read afp &c

its bad as I can see my online life eating into my offline life.  Still it is nice to sit downstairs infront of the fire and be able to irc.
